John:

I couldn't resist coming back to your message with a little more humour in my heart.

All I want to say (at least for the time being) is since when are those (presumably) ugly blue fences supposed to curb romance and adventure when even the more difficult scaling of drainpipes were no obstacle.

All I can say is if they have no food let them have romance.

John:

I am personally very proud of you and the effort you made to get some hard facts on conditions and happenings on the DGH campus. It appears to be worse than what others and I even imagined.

I envisage the OGB's may be banned from visiting the campus in the future. Some hard facts presented earlier by our gutsy ladies Joanna & Angela on the Cottage Maintenance subject were not far from the deplorable conditions that you have seen first hand.

1.Single projects entailing crores of rupees is just unbelievable and unreal
2.Kids having to eat dhall diluted in water crowned by the fact that food is severely insufficient
3.Drinking water discoloured and probably polluted
4.Boarders in the Bursar's home. What in God's name propelled this necessity??

How do the kids get the energy and strength to carry them to a footer field or even execute their academic goals. Unbelievable and truly shocking.

John my heart is willing to help on your project "Clean Drinking Water" but I am so reluctant to spur up 'money talk' as I, in principle, refuse to be responsible for creating even more incentives and opportunities for the 'vultures' that feed off the land.

I know my comment in conclusion of this note may be misinterpreted but I will say I would rather, in fact I feel stronger saying, under the prevailing conditions and for the sake of all those kids up there, DGH should be shut down immediately and disposed off accordingly.

I am ashamed to even accept that I was once a product of this now shameful existence and abusive environment that raises young future citizens of their countries.

I look forward to HE Mr Jigme Dorjee pulling out all the Bhutanes kids from this 'hell hole' for starters.

John all of us look forward to hearing more from you on this subject. Photographs if you have any would be highly desirable.

Dear Friends,
I visited kalimpong after a long time, I had thought of giving a long report on my visit to DGH regarding the changes which i may notice there. Unfortunately i end up on bed. biggrin.gif so my report going to be a brief one.

Before i headed back to HK, i did manage to go upto the boys bog, it was after the school hour and spent some times with students chatting and interviewing in the new pavillion built above the KG field.
I was not surprise to see new changes of the Homes, Thanks to those ppl. who constantly post the pictures of school compound in the Alumni album.

It was nice to see my good old frens pentey (the momo guy) and suffix (boxy walla) busy doing their business in the Elliot bend. I wanted to go around the campus and meet old teachers but nobody was around except for some new faces. Some students were practising foota and preparing for preps. From the pavillion i scanned the whole campus and noticed some fences in the junior block and honeymoon hill. I was told the fences are made to prevent datings confused.gif

Soon in the pavillion there were about half a dozen boarder students around me and answering my questions and bombarding with complaints. My first question was about the grub wink.gif and this is their petition to the DGH managers for FOOD:
1- Please add more dal (pulse) to make it look like real DAAL!!! (Its sooooo watery)
2- Please give us CLEAN WATER to drink in Central Kitchen, not brimmed with multi color layered oily water!
3- Please GIVE BACK OUR DINNER on saturday!!! Every saturday (or sunday??) the students collect a wai wai during the lunch time. (The wai wai (pack of instant noodle replaces their dinner that used to be served in the CK)
4- FOOD is NOT Enough!
5- Install drinking water facilities in the campus!!!

on SPORTS:
- We need a COACH!, right now DGH do not have any appointed or volunteer coach for the school sports events. I saw foota team practicing by themselves, this applies to other sports as well.

Facts or Rumour?
- We had been hearing about DGH property on mortgage or sell etc. sadly it seems to be true coz every Tom , Dick and Harry ...from students, teachers , workers to busty ppl. know this smile.gif(not official though)
- May be many heard and was excited about DGH opening a new BPO institute last year- It was a SUPER DUPER flop and waste of money...
- The new hostel "Murray cottage" (sponsored by an OGB?) built between staff block and calcutta cottage is opened for business.: The project cost was initiated 40 lakhs but ended up costing .80 crore!!! (you MUST visit this expensive place!)
- Heard lots of corruption news... may be time will reveal it biggrin.gif

Funniest part:
One of the students among the 6-7 students i was interviewing in the KG field was residing as a paying guest in the house of our school's bursar, situated near the school cemetry. I asked him whether his GRUB is much better than the borders who are eating in the CK. His answer was simply - NOPE! its the same! infact everything what the borders eat in the CK we get the same stuff even the daal biggrin.gif except the water wink.gif. He regretfully said - I wish i knew this before i joined there. biggrin.gif

Action:
Dear readers, May be we can work on a drinking water project in the school campus which looks like this. The student really need this facility. If financial need comes Errol and me will be knocking ure doors soon.wink.gif

:

Okay ppl. got to end this report here... even i can go on... do keep rolling in ure views...
Lastly Thanks to all for making this site colorful and yes ure compliments helps us to boost our energy specially it works well for my old man-Mr. Errol :smile
